Domestic level parboiling vessel

At present, paddy is parboiled at home level mainly by boiling the grain in water for 1 to 11/2 hrs. In order to overcome the disadvantages of this method, a boiling vessel was developed where pre-soaked paddy could be parboiled by steaming.

Steaming of pre-soaked paddy reduces the fuel consumption for parboiling by 42% as compared to the conventional home level parboiling method. Steaming also produces an evenly parboiled grain with higher milling qualities and appearance.

The capacity of the vessel is 35kg per batch and can be parboiled in about 15-20min.
